Family Photography Swansea
I had the pleasure of meeting Matthew, Lara, and Catrin (their daughter) at Pembrey Campsite when they were visiting some friends. We arranged to meet there and do an outdoor photoshoot to make the most of the beautiful weather. Mum and dad were super easy going and not entirely down with the whole posing thing. They were put at ease about what to expect from the shoot and the camera from the start, the instructions were literally “We’re gonna walk this ways guys – just forget about me.” The photography always starts with a long lens as it helps you get accustomed to being photographed and as the shoot progresses and trust builds, we get a little closer to get frame-filling shots. With their daughter coming up to three, even a short walk around the lanes near the campsite and back were super exciting and this is one aspect of family photography that never gets boring – the sense of wonder that they have.

Lara and Matthew received an online gallery, some of which you can see in the rest of this blog post and also a slideshow to music. Another aspect of family photography that those in the know love is making the parents and relatives happy. Getting messages like this “Omg Dan these are absolutely beautiful I love them, so perfect Thank you thank you thank you soooo much. Matthew nearly cried” makes it more about more than just artistic expression. Mum and dad have booked another session of family snaps in Wales for early next year, it’s either going to be the beach or the forest and probably nearer sunset, I’m excited already as Catrin is a little cutie and no doubt Lara will dress her in something pretty again, and she’ll also have a little brother or sister.
Family Photoshoot
Kids grow really fast. If you haven’t had a family shoot done in the last year then your little ones are probably quite a bit bigger already. If you haven’t got round to booking a family photoshoot because you don’t like posing then get in touch as I don’t do posing. All the shots you see were taken with them just being them and very little involvement from me. I think they did a fantastic job.
